Release Day : Faking It

Fake it till you make it.

That’s Lexi Hall, the wild socialite’s motto for how to live life.

Single and allergic to commitment, Lexi is having the time of her life.  Or is she? With
a new promotion at the art gallery, and her colorful lifestyle as bright as ever, she
swears she has no interest in slowing down. When Lexi receives a phone call that
can change her career, she pounces on the opportunity. But what this outgoing diva
doesn’t plan for is her new client, the closed off, secluded artist, Hunter James.
Fighting to draw the line between work and pleasure, it’s up to Lexi to figure out
how to balance her fake life for something real.

Hunter James is an artist without a muse. Lacking the beauty in his life that he
craves, his art is beginning to suffer.  Unfortunately for the mysterious artist, a past
mistake also tarnishes his trust in women. Forced to take a meeting with an art
gallery dealer, he accepts knowing he’ll turn her down. He turns them all down.  But
what he doesn’t anticipate is for the seductive bombshell to turn his world upside
down.  As his body and mind come alive, he vows to stop at nothing to have her on
his canvas and in his bed.

As Lexi’s life begins to brighten with the promise of something beautiful, can she
stop faking it and find a reason to make it real? Or will Hunter’s past replace their
light with darkness?

EXCERPT & TEASERS

The clacking of my stilettos on the shiny marble of his penthouse floor is the only
sound that can be heard between us. As I hit the button for the elevator, I feel
Hunter behind me. His body heat is setting my back ablaze as he pins me with his
dominant frame.  I expect him to say something. Do something. But he doesn’t. His
solid chest pressed against my back, his heavy breaths hitting the outside of my
earlobe.

“Please,” he finally whispers, almost like a plea.  “Please say yes to me, Lexi.” His
words sending a spiral of heat down my spine. He’s barely touched me, yet I feel as if
I’m going to combust. “Let me paint every contour of your exquisite body. Every
curve, every dimple.” His mouth is so close to my skin that I imagine his lips on me.

His warm breath caresses the back of my neck, traveling down to my collarbone.
“Tell me you don’t feel just a little bit intrigued at how freeing it would be to sit for
me. To expose yourself to me while I take in every part of your body and transform
it into my own private masterpiece.”

I exhale audibly, my shoulders beginning to weaken. His arms lift, enclosing on each
side of my now pulsating body. His strong hands press against the wall forming a
barricade around me. “Tell me that you don’t agree that your body is a paradise for
any man’s eyes. I need that. I need to be able to capture that beauty and paint a
vision that leaves me struggling for air every time I look at it.  That is what you will
give me if you say yes.”

EXCERPT & TEASER

“I very desperately want to kiss you.”

My mouth forms into a line. “And that’s bad because…?”

He takes a deep intake of air into his lungs and looks at me. I mean—really looks at me. Deep into my being. “Because I’m afraid if do, I won’t be able to stop.”

I elevate my body and collapse onto his chest. “Then, don’t.” If anything is like his previous kisses, I’m in for a passionate road ahead.

His hand reaches behind my head and I watch in slow motion as his beautiful face moves toward mine. The moment our lips touch, all of my other senses go haywire, feeling everything. Pleasure, need, hunger…want. So much want. I want everything he has to offer. In this moment, I don’t care what the future holds. I don’t care if he finds out about my shattered past and hates it. In this instant, I only care about him and the feelings he’s unleashing in and on my body.

His grip on my hair tightens as the kiss deepens. We moan together, feeling the pleasure poring from our bodies. His lips are sweet at first. Restrained and guarded. Almost as if he’s willing himself to slow down. But, I don’t want him controlled. I want him wild. I want him like the rain pours down. Taking no prisoners. The rain doesn’t care who it drenches; it just comes down, down, down. Soaking you. I want him forceful and firm, taking me how he wants. Just like the rain.

The thought of stopping makes me physically ill. This moment, being with him, in his warm, comforting embrace might be the most beautiful moment of my life. It’s heated and perfect. Stopping isn’t an option.

My hands move down his torso, taut and hard. His muscles move and bend under my touch and I feel myself growing wet as every second passes. The swirl of his tongue sends me high and I bite his bottom lip.

“I don’t think I’ve wanted anything or anyone as much as I want you, my Pretty Girl,” he hums in between kissing up and down my neck. “Nothing is as good as being with you. You have me soaring.”

He doesn’t have much time to say anything else before I’m pulling him up by his shirt, lifting it up and over his head. He grabs at my blouse, unbuttoning every button with detailed precision. When he opens my shirt, he simply stares, eyes electric. He puts his hand in between my breasts and just touches—feels.

“Come to bed with me. As much as I want you. Here. Now, I’ve gotta have you in bed. Slowly.”

I nod my head, unable to form any coherent words. It’s almost as if the hand that’s resting on my chest is somehow digging into my body, willing my heart to beat violently. He’s able to control me.

I wonder if I do the same.

I gently move off of his body and stand, watching him swing his legs off the couch. His body lifts and like a peacock, he looks big and alarming. Proud.

Grabbing my hand, he leads me up the stairs, stopping half way to pin me against the wall to thoroughly kiss me.

Hauling me to his room, he opens the door, turns on a small light on his nightstand and the cool air whooshes against my face. The blindingly white down blanket shines bright, but the dark, patterned pillows offset the brightness of the covers.

“Christ, you’re beautiful.”

Tv Series Review : Jessica Jones

Jessica. I know your secrets. I know about your friends, about your gifts.
Jessica. Jessica Jones. I know Everything.
-Kilgrave

So I finishes this show in just 2 days and I'm really hooked. For those who doesn't know who Jessica Jones, let me try my best to explain it to you guys. This is Jessica Jones in my opinion : She's a retired superhero with super strength and ability to fly/jump real high. After trying out the whole superhero thing, she decided to become a P.I. instead and she's rather really good at it. So a year after an incident that happened that kinda messed her up more than she already is, a man from her past return. So throughout the series, we learned more about her past, and we also learn about her connection with the villain in this season.

First of all let me say that this superhero show is different from other superhero shows I've watched before. I'm a big fan of Arrow, The Flash and of course now The Legends of Tomorrow, just fyi ;)
Okay, so what makes it different to me is that it handles more with real-life situation as compared to other marvel superheroes. It talked about abuse and rape and it's really great the way they handle this situation. And Jessica Jones is a bad ass. You can see from the trailer how bad ass she is but I love that the more episode I watched, it slowly showed me how vulnerable she is too.

Here's my Pros and Cons about this show !!
Things that I LOVE about it :

Hmm... I think first of all I just love the cast. I can't imagine these character being played by anyone else. Krysten Ritter is the perfect Jessica Jones. I know her from the movie "Vamps" where she star alongside Alicia Silverstone, and also from the tv show "Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23". She did a really good job portraying Jessica Jones, way more than I expected tbh. Next there is of course David Tennant !! Wasn't really aware of how awesome he is until I watched Doctor Who but WOW he killed it as Kilgrave. *SPOILERS ALERT* And I know there's been a lot of debate over the shipping between Kilgrave and Jessica. I find it hard for myself to hate him as a villain because when you find out about his past, you kinda feel bad about him and you sympathize with him. There's also the part where you can see how vulnerable he is because of his love for Jessica, I can feel his pain when Jessica rejected him. But in the end, I can't really oversee all the shits he's done, it's just too much and too violent for me. *END OF SPOILER* And let's not forget about Trish, Jessica's BFF, who is played by Rachael Taylor. I really love all of the cast but those 3 are my favourites.

Next thing would be the plot. I haven't read the comics or any comics in fact, don't hate me but I just haven't. But the storyline is good, it's not too draggy and not too rush at the same time. Really looking forward to Season 2 because there's a few more thing that they left at a cliffhanger that I need to know about. Melissa Rosenberg did a really good job with this show.

And of course I like that I can binge watch it all instead of waiting for it every week and sometimes there's also breaks that will take months (like OUAT, for anyone fans out there who knows my pain). That's the good thing about it being picked up by Netflix I guess. And I'm really happy that I get to have access to Netflix now because if I didn't try it out, I wouldn't have started on Jessica Jones.

The Cons of this show :

I'm not really sure if I have anything I hate or don't like about it. I'm seriously brainstroming right now to find something I don't like and I can't seem to think of any or maybe cause I'm hungry and tired now that I can't think properly hahahaha . But I would love to hear your opinion about this show !!

Anyway, I'm just gonna end the review here since I kinda sucked at writing them. Would really love to hear your feedbacks and check out my Instagram and Twitter for more of me rambling :D

Sometimes taking a risk for love isn’t always easy.

Sometimes even the strongest of friendships are put to the test.

EXCERPT & TEASER

“I have memories of you that I’ll use to embarrass you in front of your kids.”

“Hey, just remember I’ve got some dirt on you too, so watch what secrets you’re giving away.”

“Yeah, I know! Do you remember that night?” She let out a slight giggle. “When I threw myself at    you?”

"Yup, I do. How could I forget? My dad busting in my room the next morning."

We both began to laugh until tears were rolling down her face.

"Yeah, too bad I couldn't laugh about it like that back then. I was scared to death that my mom was
gonna kill me!"

"You never did tell me....how much trouble did you get in for that?"

"Not much at all. My mom was surprisingly pretty cool about it. My dad, well.... he eventually got over it."

"That was a classic."

"Do you ever regret not taking me up on the offer of being my first?"

"No." I lied. I regretted it every day. I wanted to be her first, I wanted to be her last, and I wanted to be everything in between. We were so young back then. It would have never lasted, and Carrie and I
wouldn't have the strong relationship that we do now if we had taken that step. We both needed time
to grow, to experience new things with different people before we made that type of commitment.

Now, here we were, older, wiser and both committed to someone else.

EXCERPT & TEASERS

I pay, trying to scurry undetected to the condiments, juggling my cardboard snack
tray awkwardly as I pluck a few napkins from the metallic holder. One, two… five
napkins.

That should be enough, right?

For good measure, I pluck out two more from the holder because sometime my
butter hands get out of control. I hate having buttery fingerprints.

Still clutching my ticket stub, I attempt to lift it to see which theater my movie is
playing in, but fail miserably and have to set everyth—

“Daphne?”

I freeze.

Look up.

Pivot.

Standing behind me in his navy blue pea coat, Dexter Ryan smiles crookedly down at
me.

He smoothes his hands down the front of his dark pressed jeans—or is he wiping
sweat off his palms?—and pushes his tortoiseshell eyeglasses up the bridge of his
nose.

I take it all in—every inch of him—from the preppy jacket, the glasses, the slight
cleft in his chin, up to the black cable knit winter hat when he suddenly removes it.
Instead of his hair being flatted by the hat, it’s unruly and a bit tousled. A rich brown,
his locks are wavy, shaggy and desperately need a trim.

He finger combs it out of his face.

“It is Daphne, right?” He asks, unsure of himself.

It’s hard to hold back my groan of dismay at being spotted, but I muster up a
cheerful, “Yeah. Hi. Dexter?”

He smiles then, his eyes shining behind his dark, tortoiseshell lenses. I mean—I
think his eyes are shining. Maybe it’s just the reflection of his glasses?

Those dark eyes dart down to my snacks, the ticket stub grasped between two
fingers on my right hand. His brows go up. “Do you need help with anything? Sorry,
I’m an idiot; it’s obvious you’re waiting for someone.”

A nervous giggle escapes my lips, only I can’t smack a hand over my mouth to stop it.
“Gosh thank you. I don’t need help,” I hurriedly say. “I just have to see which theater
I’m in, but I’m having a hard time with…”

All my food.

“It’s just you?” His head cranes around, confused. “I’m sorry, that was rude. Of
course it’s not just you. Why would it be?” His deep voice gives a forced, nervous
chuckle.

Wow, this is about to get awkward. “Nope, it is just me,” I barely manage to get the
words out. “I’m here alone.”

Dexter’s eyes go wide, sending his brows straight into his hairline. His mouth even
falls open a little but no sound comes out.

“Great,” I joke, more for my benefit than his. “I’ve rendered you speechless.”

I follow the line of his jacket, down to the hand tightly gripping his winter hat.

“No! Shit, sorry. I didn’t mean… I don’t know what I mean.” Deep breath. “I’m here
alone, too.”

Suddenly, his mouth twitches into a goofy grin, and my green eyes fly make a beeline
to his lips as they form the words, “Which movie are you here to see?”

Those lips.

Huh?

Instead of formulating a response, I find myself trying not to stare at a perfectly
sculpted upper lip and a full mouth surrounded by a days’ worth of five o’clock
shadow. Strong jawline. Straight, white teeth. And is that line in his cheek a dimple?

Dexter clears his throat, and I watch transfixed as the chords in his neck flex when
he reprises, “Which movie are you here to see?”

Huh?

“Huh?”

Jesus, I have some serious issues. And if Dexter think I’ve gone space cadet on him,
he doesn’t let on; his brown eyes are kind. Friendly. Sincere without a trace of
egotism. “What movie?”

Oh god. Could this be any more humiliating? The guys asked me the same question
three times.

“Uh… StarGate?”

Don’t judge me! Don’t judge me, Dexter! I want to shout. I want to hide behind my
massive bucket of popcorn. Yes, it’s true! I am at a nine o’clock screening of StarGate,
the twenty-year-old movie turned nerd cult classic of all time.

By myself.

As in: alone.

On a Saturday night.

A pleased grin quirks, his thick brows shoot up for a second time in surprise before
he clears his throat. “Me too.”

Dexter briefly glances down at his ticket stub, pushing his glasses back up the bridge
of his nose with a forefinger. God, it’s such a sweet gesture I actually cock my head
and stare.

Truth be told, I could probably stare at him all night.

It’s been all of three minutes and I find him charming, adorable, and unassumingly
handsome. The kind of handsome that sneaks up on you.

He clears his throat again. “It’s, uh, in theater twelve. Let me just…” He reaches
around me then to grab a few napkins for himself, though he’s only carrying a
medium soda.

No popcorn. No candy. No snacks.

Wait. No snacks?

Who doesn’t get snacks at the movies? Who?

Self-conscious of my gluttony, I back away, wielding my embarrassing armload of
junk food, face flaming hot. “I guess I should go find myself a seat. Yeah. I should go
do that. The previews have probably already started and those are my favorite
part…”

Stop talking Daphne!

Dexter nods and grapples for a few more napkins.

Oh brother; between the two of us, we have enough napkins to last us through Armageddon.

Book Review : A Work In Progress

Hmm.. Where do I start with this one ?? My mind is all jumbled up after reading the book so let's start on how I know about this book I guess.
To be honest with you, I don't really watch Connor's videos, I don't really stay up to date with his posts (but to be fair, I don't really follow and stay up to date with Celebrities or YouTubers. I only followed max 10 famous people on my instagram hahahaha) But I know who Connor is, how he looks like and I've watched a couple videos and I remember thinking what a great smile on that cute face :p

Anyways, I wasn't really interested in reading non-fiction before. Most of the books that I read is Romance, mostly Adult Romance because some of the teenage love story are sometimes too cliche or expected or repeated but yeah, I've never really been into memoir or auto-biography before, probably cause I'm lacking in the love section of my life so I get my feels from hot billionaire like Damien Stark ;) Okay, need to stop getting side tracked !! So yeah, my first biography book is 'Is Everybody Hanging Out Without Me' By Mindy Kaling (which btw, I did a review too if you want to check it out :D) and ever since then I've been more into biographies. And I know he published a book and saw it a couple of times on instagram so I decided why not since the cover is really pretty. I really enjoyed the book, therefore here I am writing a review close to midnight and I got work tomorrow morning but I can't not write it. Here's my review :

" Who Are You ?
Answer : You are who you are in this given moment. Label-less, Limitless. "
- Page 135

The way Connor sees the world and everything around him amazes me. I've been trying lately to not let my insecurities get in my way. I know that no matter what I do, people will judge anyway and I've accepted that but Connor explains it in such a manner that I realize that I still have a long way to go to fully accept myself. He's only 23 years old but somehow he's manage to capture all the shits that some adults might not be able to and that deserves a good pat on the shoulder. His words inspired me and I hope that it inspires other too. And not only that he's cute he also gives good advice for many things in your life and I'll know I will never forget about it as it is quite memorable to me.

But the thing that I like most about this book is the photos inside. Those photos helps to tell the story better and there are beautiful photos inside that deserves to be look at. I recommend this book to any non-fiction lover out there. Don't let his age or his popularity stops you from reading it because I know there are some of you out there that's a little bit ehh about this book because you think he's still too young to know shit or because he's a youtuber and he's just trying to gain more money from his popularity. Toss those judgment out for a second and give this book a go !!

Cover Reveal : Progress

Jesse

I admit, I didn’t think much of Charlie at first. She was rounder than the girls who usually caught my eye. Not my type. But when I saw her sitting in that booth alone, for the first time something in my mind or my instincts or my heart told me to join her.

She defied me.
She challenged me.
She gave me hope.
Before I knew it, moving forward was my only option.

Charlie

I couldn’t tell you when it happened, but it had to have been a gradual change; I never moved too quickly.

If someone would have told me earlier that year what I was going to go through, I wouldn't have believed them.

Jesse was so different from anyone I’d met before. And everyone I’ve met since. He sucked all the life out of me, in the best—and worst—ways.

We don’t get strong overnight. For most of us it takes time. Strength isn’t measured by how high and fast our walls go up, but how easily we can watch them fall.

EXCERPT

I stood, flipped off the asshole who’d just destroyed my social life, and strode
toward the door. The curvy chick opened it wide for me before I even remembered
she was still standing there.

“Thanks,” I mumbled. “After you.”

I leaned into the door frame as I propped the door open with my elbow and
gestured for her to walk ahead. Avoiding my eyes, she slipped past me with a
muttered thank-you.

As the door clicked shut behind us, I said to her, “Yeah, well, a hand job may be nice,
but I guess that’s out after what I promised inside there.” I tilted my head back
toward the studio and laughed at my own joke.

She turned and shot me a hard glare, her oversized sweatshirt sagging off one
shoulder.

Most other girls I knew would have been fine if I dropped trou right there and
whipped my dick right the fuck out. Their hands would have been just itching to
grab me. But not this one.

“Kidding. I was kidding.” I lifted my hands in the air in surrender.

All of a sudden, I felt ashamed of my behavior. I wasn’t that guy. Was I?

She raised an eyebrow, making me question my character some more.

“I’m serious. Kidding. Listen, don’t let him boss you around. Once upon a time, Sonny
was an intern too. A lowly, pimply one.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” Her words were thick with an East Coast accent and heavy
with doubt. “See you around,” she said, dismissing me at the supply closet.

About The Author

Rachel Blaufeld is a bestselling author of Coming of Age, Romantic Suspense, and
Sports Romance fiction. She recently asked her readers to describe her, and the
adjectives they came up with included: insightful, generous, articulate, and spunky.
Originally a social worker, Rachel creates broken yet redeeming characters. She’s
been known to turn up the angst like cranking the heat up in the dead of winter.

Turning her focus on her sometimes wild-and-crazy creative side, it only took
Rachel two decades to do exactly what she wanted to do—write a fiction novel. Now
she spends way too many hours in local coffee shops, downing muffins and plotting
her ideas. Her tales may all come with a side of angst and naughtiness, but end
deliciously.

Blaufeld, also an entrepreneur/blogger, is fearless about sharing her opinion. Before
turning her pen to fiction, she captured the ear of stay-at-home and working moms
on her blog, BacknGrooveMom, chronicling her adventures in parenting tweens and
inventing a product, often at the same time. She has also blogged for the Huffington
Post and Modern Mom.

Most recently, she shares conversations from being “In Bed with a Romance Author”
and reading recommendations over at “Happy Ever After”on USA TODAY.
Rachel lives around the corner from her childhood home in Pennsylvania with her
family and two beagles. Her obsessions include running, coffee, basketball, icing-
filled doughnuts, antiheroes, and mighty fine epilogues.
