Blog Tour : I'll Be The One

For better or for worse, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall graduate.

Rachel Wheaton

The senior Economics project is supposed to teach us about real life. Budgeting. Social classes. Careers. I was supposed to plan it all out with my school husband. I didn't plan on actually falling in love with him, too.

But sometimes real life doesn't go according to plans. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions and sacrifices for the person you love. That's what marriage is about, right?

James Tennyson

I've always known things before they happen. Nothing major, like lottery numbers, but it's been pretty
useful for things like playing football and dodging clingy girls. I've never been able to see my future. I didn't think much about it, to be honest.

Until second period, when she walked through the door.

Falling in love with her unlocked something inside me. Those little things I know? Now they're big things. Life-saving things. So who do I save? And at what cost? I made a vow to her.

For better or for worse, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall graduate live.

EXCERPT & TEASERS

I start thinking about this dreaded project, but it becomes less of an issue when I realize it’s getting
harder to breathe. A loud ringing overtakes my ears while my brain and heart disagree over how fast it should beat. I have no idea what this means. Maybe it’s a natural disaster? I’ve never predicted anything that big before. Do they even have earthquakes in North Carolina? Tsunamis? Stampedes? I look outside and see blue skies. Is there about to be an airplane crash? Train crash? A code blue? I should’ve paid better attention in geography or that CPR class.

My heart’s beating faster and faster, and I wipe my palms against my jeans. I don’t know if I should hide under my desk or try to find a bathroom. I look around; everyone else is passing in their homework as if the new kid isn’t getting ready to keel over and die.

Oh, my God. It’s the apocalypse. That’s gotta be it. The world is going to end, and I’m the only one who knows it. And here I thought it was going to be a good day. Now I wish I would have gone all the way with Brittney. To die a virgin when the opportunity had once presented itself seems like such a waste. I start counting my heartbeats and try to calm the fuck down so I can figure out how to tell everyone else that Jesus or zombies are on the way.

Then the classroom door opens, and I stop breathing.

A girl with long, blond hair walks in and hands a late slip to Mrs. Mason. “Welcome back, Rachel. How was Cozumel?”

“It was great! We got back late last night. My favorite part was the Chichen Itza tour. Who knew a bunch of old stuff could be so cool? Just don’t let Mr. Allen know I said that. He’ll probably make me write a report on it.”

“I’m glad you enjoyed it, and your secret’s safe with me. Turn in your holiday homework and take your seat. It’s time to get married.”

I watch Rachel dig in her backpack and will my incapacitated diaphragm to remember its sole purpose in life. When she walks toward me, I take a moment to admire her long legs. She smiles, and then her lips are moving. Oh God. I’ve never hated my lungs so much in my life. I cough and manage to inhale. I swear I smell vanilla mixed with... sunshine? I don’t know how to explain it. It’s an odd combination, but on her it works. She sits on a desk next to me and stares like she’s waiting for me to do something. Her eyes remind me of chocolate. She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.

“I’m sorry, what?” Thank you, vocal cords. Thank you for working and not making me look like an even bigger jackass. “Hi, what’s your name?” she repeats, drawing out each word.
Shit. I wipe my hands on my jeans again. What’s that word people use to get my attention? That thing inside my head needs more oxygen to work properly. I take a deep breath.

Vanilla. Sunshine.

“James.” I manage to smile, but it probably looks like the same face I made that time Gran mixed up the salt with the sugar in her apple pie. Rachel looks confused. The teacher starts speaking again and I’m grateful for the distraction.

“All right, class. Let’s get into our project. As I mentioned before the break, the senior Economics project is based on real life. You will each be assigned a partner and the two of you will become a couple. You’ll spend the next five months dealing with budgets, jobs, bills, pretend families, and so on.

I will place you in different socio-economic classes and you’ll see how that affects the jobs you can find, the houses you can afford and the opportunities you have in life. I’ll throw in some twists here and there too. Now, let’s partner up and get hitched.”
She counts off pairs around the classroom and ends up on my row of desks. “Alicia and Scott. Cori and Mike. Rachel and James.”

Holy shit. I love this class. I love this desk. I love this assignment.

“Stand up and slide your desks back to make space in the middle of the room.” Mrs. Mason grabs a
basket off her desk and passes a Ring Pop to each guy in the room. “Gentlemen, please unwrap your
rings, stand before your brides and repeat after me:

“I, state your name, take thee, state your bride’s name, in pretend matrimony. I promise to be true to
our grade for better or worse, in sickness and in health, as long as we both shall graduate.”

I slide the Ring Pop on Rachel’s finger and make an effort to not jerk my hand back. Sparks didn’t
actually fly, but I wasn’t expecting her skin to feel so soft. So good. I’ve never been pretend married
before, but I already know I can never give another girl a ring again. I’m a senior in high school and I’m ruined for life. I want to get married for real and have her babies. I mean, make her have my babies. Shit, who am I kidding? I’d have her babies if she asked me to.

“Okay, let’s get the desks back in order and I’ll hand out your packets with all of your information. We’ll review them together and you can start looking for houses.”

I slide my desk back up, bringing it slightly closer to Rachel’s. She puts her hair in a ponytail but a few shorter tendrils fall around her face. Fuck, did I just say tendrils? This is not good. I’ve made it seventeen years without having a girlfriend, and now I have a pretend wife and I’m using sissy words. What’s next?
I clear my throat and take a deep breath.

“Let’s try this again. Hi, I’m James. It’s nice to meet you.”

Blog Tour : The Truth of A Liar

Hadley Theater, New York City, New York - Night

ENTER STAGE LEFT-Rowan Townsend, a twenty-nine year old Broadway starlet, strolls onto the dark, ominous stage. The bright spotlight finds her and she smiles broadly, her body buzzing in anticipation.

Rowan

Serendipity is a funny thing, isn’t it? It jumps out from behind the bushes and offers an unbelievable
chance at happiness. It’s hopeful and intriguing, and maybe even a little terrifying.

ENTER STAGE RIGHT-Lark Hawthorne, a striking twenty-nine year old FBI agent and self-proclaimed liar, marches to Rowan and grabs her arm, coaxing her off stage.

Lark

Rowan, what are you doing? We need to leave. It’s not safe here.

Rowan and Lark look out into the audience and a menacing shadow in the back of the theater catches
their attention. Her eyes expand in panic and he grips her hand tighter, offering reassurance.

EXCERPT & TEASERS

I don’t care if it’s sinful. This feeling, right now, it makes all of the bad in my life seem like child’s play in comparison. Landon and Cameron…they’re distant memories.

It’s almost as if I’ve waited all of my life to feel this way with this man.

“I want you. So much, Rowan,” Lark whispers. He reverberates pain, yet his voice is heady. Strained, he hisses as I move my hands lower, settling on the hem of his pants.

I move my head to look at him. I place my hand on his cheek, and touch his bottom lip with my thumb. He’s so soft, yet so incredibly masculine. I want to climb inside of his mind and explore every inch of him. I want to discover all of his inner workings, his secrets. The ones he’ll openly admit to and the ones he hides under his bed.

He clenches his teeth, but his eyes are inquisitive, curious. We stare at each other for an incalculable
amount of time. The seconds seem to pass at a glacial pace and in this moment, I’m thankful. I know
when this ends, it’ll be done for good.

It’s almost as if I’m visiting a foreign place and it’s my last day and I know if I don’t sample the unique cuisine and take mental pictures of the scenery, I’ll never find the feeling deep inside of me again. It’ll be lost forever.

My stomach flops at the thought.

“Lark.” I breathe. Saying his name in this setting is enough to send me over the edge and into the
unknown.

His body vibrates as the word passes my lips, and he moves his face closer to mine. His lips are
millimeters from making contact and all I’d have to do is breathe and we’d be connected, but I refuse to move.

“Say it, again,” he demands, his breath washing over my face. “This might be the last time. Say it one
more time, please. For me.” He closes his eyes with a small smile playing on the edge of his lips. His
hand makes its way up to my face again and he clings to me as if I’m his anchor, tethering him to this
world.

I muster all of the courage I have and mutter his name, letting it float out of my mouth, my lips brushing his in the slightest.

Lark hisses, and this time, I know it’s in longing.

Blog Tour : Evil

You know that group of people in school that everyone fears? Popular. Beautiful. The in-crowd?

That was my family. Kind of.

We were above that group. We held court over everyone else. We were the best looking. We were the mysterious and elusive ones. Most of the girls wanted to (and did) date the guys, but they didn’t want to be one of us. They couldn’t be. They were our prey.

We were the feared.

But like every family, nothing is as it seems. That was my truth.

Kellan was in his own league. He was our leader and he was the one no one messed with. No one dared.

He was ruthless, powerful, and no one could match him…

Except for me.

I was about to find out just how different I was from my family.

EXCERPT & TEASERS

“Kellan and Shay Braden, why is it always you two? And if it’s not the two of you, it’s your other two siblings. All the time.” Mr. Mirchak approached, shaking his head. “Who’d you fight this time, Kellan?”

I should’ve felt something, maybe remorse, but there was nothing. Matt had assaulted me. Kellan felt it and protected me. And if Matt chose to run away, then that was Matt’s decision. But still…I should’ve felt guilty.

Kellan drew to his full height of six one and squared his lean shoulders against the portly forty-
something teacher. He shook his head. “Do you see anyone, Mr. Mirchak?”

The balding teacher shook his head. “I never see anyone, Kellan. That’s the problem. But I know that
someone’s going to show up with a busted eye, maybe a shoulder. I don’t know, but there’s always
something.” He turned away, but mumbled over his shoulder, “…too damn scared to say a thing…”

Kellan waited until the teacher had turned the corner before he flashed a smile. “What do you think?”

I rolled my eyes and kicked my locker open. “You didn’t have to hurt his jaw.”

“Right.” Kellan fell against the locker beside mine and studied me. “At least this way, he’ll shut up all the time. I’m getting tired of his mouth. The guy thinks he knows you too much. He doesn’t know anything.”

“Still…” I muttered as I bent inside to grab my book.

“Still,” Kellan mimicked me and yanked me out. “Why didn’t you do something, Shay?”

“What are you talk—?”

“Don’t. Not with me,” Kellan interrupted. “You could’ve stopped him long before I came around the
corner. You knew I was coming. Why didn’t you stop him?”

“Maybe I wanted to hear his rhetoric on how hot I must be for him.”

“Don’t be funny, Shay. You’re not the funny one, remember?”

I smirked. “That’s funny. I don’t think that role’s been taken in our family.”

Kellan’s hand tightened on my arm. He pulled me closer and bent his head to my ear. “You always wait for me. Why?”

Maybe I couldn’t bring myself to do what he enjoyed. Maybe I liked knowing he’d always protect me or that someone would protect me. Maybe…maybe I enjoyed the sick pleasure knowing that someone like Matt could never really hurt me, though he didn’t know that fact. Or maybe…I whispered, “I don’t know, okay?”

I didn’t know. I had ideas. I had possible scenarios, but the only truth was, I could’ve easily broken
Matt’s hold on me and I didn’t.

About The Author

Hello~ (waves)

I didn't begin writing until after undergraduate college. There'd been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the
computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can't blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I'm hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

Blog Tour : The Year I Met August

It was the summer before college and Murphy was ready to experience life, as any
girl should. During an outing with her sister she meets August. He's older, and more
experienced than she is.

She knew a relationship at this point was almost pointless. With an internship at the
end of summer and then college in the fall. Her schedule was full.

Murphy told herself that she could walk away from August without any
repercussions. If only her heart had listened.

Walking away at the end of the summer was difficult. But they agreed to keep in
touch and see each other whenever possible. They still didn't put a label on their
relationship.

Eventually August showed his true self. He was so ashamed, he hid his secret from
her for as long as possible. Now that his secret was out, Murphy had no clue how to
handle it.

Will she stay with him so they can deal with it together? Or will it be too much for
her to take on?

I took a drink of my tea. “I was supposed to just walk away after ten days. I thought
that was possible. But clearly I was naïve in thinking so.”

“Hey. Don’t beat yourself up.”

“What if all this is too good to be true? They say if it’s too good to be true then it’s
not real. I’m scared that August and I will drift apart, and I don’t know if I can handle
that.”

She reached over and covered my hand with hers. “Quit over thinking it. Just go with
it. Don’t you think you deserve to feel this way? He’s your first boyfriend. Yeah,
you’ll have doubts, even fights. But that’s why they invented makeup sex.” She
grinned.

“Melanie!”

She laughed. “Anyway, it’s good to sit and chat, but I should get you back.”

“Will you tell Mom hi for me? And that I love her. And that I’m sorry.”

Melanie stood and hugged me. “Of course. I got your back, always.” She flicked my
hair over my shoulder.

We loaded back into the car and headed back to the house. We talked candidly on
the way back, and soon, we arrived. “I guess I’ll say bye to you now. I don’t know if
I’ll stop at the house or not.” She exited the car and hugged me tight.

EXCERPT & TEASER

Prologue

Fate/Seraphina

The rustle of fabric is the only indication that I’m not alone, but I remain in my seat. Today, it’s a purple velvet swivel chair. I stare out the window of my office, watching the white, fluffy clouds roll through the sky, seeming to go right around the sun, never disrupting its rays.

“Seraphina.”

The voice has my thoughts screeching back to reality, sending a shiver of want down my spine, and
making my heart ache. I slowly turn my seat to face him. “A millennium and still, you’re the only
stubborn ass who calls me by my full name,” I drawl casually, doing a damn fine job of hiding my
reaction to him.

He raises a single eyebrow, as though I should know better. The jackass.

“Gabriel,” I emphasize his name with a high level of sarcasm. Of all people, the Arch Angel named

Gabriel should understand my irritation at being namedSeraphina. I mean, dude, could we be more of a walking cliché?

I cock my head to the side, showing only mild curiosity. “I have to say, I never expected they would send you.”

He looks just the same: tall, muscular, black inky hair, cut short-ish, but perfectly unruly from his lazy curls. Amethyst eyes, a square face, chiseled jaw, Roman nose, and pouty lips (Guys can have pouty lips, too. Even GQ angel bastards), make up one fucking delicious package. And, oh, what a damn fine package it is. You ought to know, slutmuffin Mmmhmmm . . .  yes, I do.

Heat infuses me and I’m really pissed at the hormone-ridden teenager lusting after him like he’s the lead singer of that popular boy band, One Track. One Direction, idiot. Whatever, fucklet, go back to you books and virgin thoughts. Go. Scat.

Well fuck, now I’m left with a bitch in heat. I stifle a groan.

“Perhaps they didn’t think you would  return with anyone but me, without putting up a fuss,” his
smooth, melted caramel voice is so familiar and I want to tell him to keep talking forever, but then I
remember, and the stabbing pain of betrayal accompanies rising anger.

“Putting up a fuss?” I snip. “Do you see a fucking toddler in front of you?” My eyes narrow, willing laser beams to shoot out and burn multiple holes into his ridiculously gorgeous body.

“If you’re going to act like a child, Seraphina, I’ll treat you like one,” he says calmly as he moves to stand right in front of the desk, his stance deceptively casual. Yeah, right. I snort, but manage not to stomp my foot and hiss in irritation.

Instead, I sigh. “Gabriel, I haven’t seen or heard from you in over seven hundred years. Seriously, why the fuck did they send you?”

He prowls around my desk, gripping the armrests of my chair and turning me to face him. Leaning down, he has me caged in, his face inches from mine. “I volunteered.”

His proximity is throwing me off, suddenly bombarded by every horny personality inside my head.
“Um—why?” I clear my throat and try to sound unaffected, “Why would you do that? Maybe—.” I gasp a little when he moves closer, only centimeters from my mouth. “Maybe I don’t want to see you.” I nod sharply, pleased I was able to say that without bursting into flames and finding myself standing next to the devil. Have I ever told such a massive and blatant lie? Only Gabriel has ever been able to push my buttons so thoroughly. Get it together, woman!

His eyes narrow, his brows dropping low, but there is no disguising the heat in them. “Liar. You’re body fucking craves me every bit as much as mine does yours.”

Before I can deny it, his lips are on mine and my traitorous body fucking melts.

I don’t love him. I don’t love him. I don’t love him.

I chant the words in my head over and over, hoping if I say it enough, I’ll believe it. I’ve spent centuries building up the wall around my heart and I refuse to let it get broken a second time by the man who destroyed it in the first place.

About The Author

I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance.

I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books.

I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best
inspiration, my biggest supporter, and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and
understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Blog Tour : Finding Hope For Tomorrow + GIVEAWAY

Every person’s life tells a story.

Some are uncomplicated, straightforward, and easy. Things fall into place with a simplicity that boggles the mind.

Others twist and turn, and every day is centered on fighting and scraping, yet never finding victory.

And then there are those who gain an inch only to be knocked back a foot. They love. They fight. They stumble. They fall. But through it all, they stagger to their feet, step back on life’s path, and push through until they win. For these people, happiness is not an illusion. It’s a truth, a promise, worth any effort, any scars, but just out of arm’s reach. It stands at the end of the path, taunting and teasing, tempting them to take one more blow.

And in the end, the battles make victory sweeter. More valued. More precious than ever imagined.
More than any one person could hope.

This is Liam’s story.
Loyal, protective, shoulders stronger than Atlas'.
Broken, worn, battered.
Win or lose, he’s ready to fight for what tomorrow brings.

Life. Love. Healing. Hope.
