EXCERPT

As I approach the house, I can see that Gran is already in the garden. Knowing this
isn’t going to go well with her, I suck it up and just deal with this shit literally.

“Lord have mercy, child. What happened to ya?” Gran says, looking toward me.

“Your boy down there had me take the cow shit to the compost pile and you can see
the shit won,” I say with my arms crossed.

“Bless your heart. Did you not use the tractor?”

“Tractor?” At that exact moment, I hear an engine and I’ll be damned. Barrick is
using a bucket to haul the rest of the manure down there. He looks toward us and
waves. It’s on like donkey kong.

About The Author

Casey Peeler grew up in North Carolina and still lives there with her husband
daughter.

Growing up Casey wasn't an avid reader or writer, but after reading Their Eyes
Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston during her senior year of high school, and
multiple Nicholas Sparks' novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for
reading.  That love ignited the passion for writing several years later, and her
writing style combines real life scenarios with morals and values teenagers need in
their daily lives.

When Casey isn't writing, you can find her near a body of water listening to country
music with a cold beverage and a great book.

Blog Tour : Floured

Emily Barnes likes things measured and timed, just like any baker. When she loses
the apartment that she needs to run her home-based muffin business, she's faced
with a choice: couch surfing at her very loud best friends' separated by thin walls or
house sitting an otherwise empty Upper East Side luxury apartment overlooking
Central Park. Obviously it’s a no-brainer for this smart cookie.

Declan Hayes is used to people asking things of him and saying no. However, for
Maggie, his parent’s cook and housekeeper, he would do just about anything,
including going over to his parent’s apartment to check on her pseudo niece who is
staying there. His plan was to get in and get out, but the second he saw her,
something changed. Something about her sparked the normally cold and dismal
place to life; she made it warm and inviting. He finally understood the phrase
“there’s no place like home.”

Can Emily and Declan trust the timing of their lives or adjust the lens from which
they see them?

Hope, faith, trust and...love?

Will these things be enough for Emily and Declan to get the one thing they both
never thought they needed in life?

It’s a good thing they are “Floured” because life is about to get sticky.

EXCERPT

“He seems so perfect, Nat, but then he says things that confuse me.”

“Like?”

“He asked me to forgive him and said this was all new to him, and Marissa acted like
she was a jealous ex or something. I don’t understand it. When I asked him if they
dated, he said they had a “history” but that he wouldn’t call it dating.”

“Maybe they just bumped fuzzies in the wine cellar.”

“Did you really just say that?”

“What would you like me to say? They shagged, boinked, screwed, banged, humped,
or fucked? Take your pick.”

“How much time a day do you spend on Urban Dictionary?”

“What has my bride to be said now? Do I need to wash her mouth out?” Gabe asked
as he approached us. It was sweet that my two best friends were checking up on me.

“Oh, baby, you know you love this dirty little mouth.”

“God, do you two need a room?” I asked as they practically began to maul each other.

“I need to grab a few things and head back to the apartment for a nap.”

“Is that code for something else?” Gabe asked. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him.

“No, Gabe. I really need to go back to the apartment and get a few hours of sleep so
that I can get ready for tomorrow.”

“Okay, but don’t forget about me, and it’s not too late to change your mind about
coming to my parents tomorrow. You know the invitation is always open.”

“It’s all good, and I could never forget about you.” We said our goodbyes and I left.

I’m not sure if I walked or floated into the apartment. After placing my grocery bags
in the kitchen, I headed back to bed. A fresh arrangement of flowers was on sitting
on the nightstand. I was thankful that I had taken the time to remove one of the
Bachelor Button’s from the arrangement to dry before I left. The faint scent of apple
filled the room. The flowers were delicate and varied in color from white to pink. I
quickly opened the card and read.

About The Author

I never thought that I would write a novel, although my English teacher my
freshman year in college told me that he would hunt me down if I wasn’t published
by the time I was thirty. Well, thirty came and went. I was busy being a wife and
working mother of two, and nobody came looking for me.

I doubt my sister thought she was about to change my life forever when she got me a
book of “mommy porn” for my birthday in 2012, but that’s exactly what she did.

After reading the first book in the trilogy, I rushed out and got the other two books. I
became obsessed and read the series several times before learning about Fanfiction.
Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get enough. The idea fascinated me
and I thought, “I can do that.” I was a nervous wreck when I posted my first story, a
one shot about my new favorite couple. One story lead to another and then another.
My readers encouraged me to write something that was all mine, so that‘s what I
did. Thank you to everyone who told me that I could do it. It wouldn’t have been
possible without you.

I love reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with my family.  Thank you for
going on this journey with me.

Cover Reveal : Restoration & Forgiveness

When I ran back home, I wasn’t prepared for the reminders of him everywhere I
turned. I certainly never expected Keegan to follow. I thought I made myself clear -
we were through. I didn’t want anything to do with him. But, he inserted himself
back into my life, and there was nothing I could do.

I pushed he pulled.

I ran and he chased me.

I cried and he wiped away the tears.

He just wouldn’t give up, and the battle my head and my heart are waging, is one I
don’t want to be a part of. You see my head says be strong, but my heart is saying I
belong to him, and always will.

What does one do when her heart can easily forgive, yet her head refuses to.

Can Keegan, and I restore our fairy tale, or will our story be closed for good?

EXCERPT

“Let’s dance,” I tell Delaney.  I’m feeling pretty good and the music is loud. It's a
perfect cover to get away from him.

I grab Delaney's hand and drag her to the dance floor.  I don’t look back, letting the
music and alcohol course through my body as I move my hips with the beat.

After a while, I head to the bathroom, needing a break from the sweaty dance floor.
Delaney heads back to the bar to get us more drinks, which I’m sure I don’t need
since I already feel like I'm having a hard time walking a straight line.  Luckily all
goes well in the ladies room, and I’m able to use the facilities without help.  I giggle
at what an awesome drunk I am.

I walk out with a smile on my face when suddenly someone catches my arm and
turns me around, my back against a wall.  My heart speeds up and for a split second I
don’t recognize who has grabbed me until I hear the low timbre of his voice.

“Are you drunk?”

I look into Keegan’s eyes while he holds both of my arms - he's trapped me.

“Maybe a little.”

He looks angry, and for some reason my drunk self thinks the way he's looking at me
is hilarious.

“You need to be careful, anyone could take advantage of you right now, Aimee.”

“I’m not alone I’m with Delaney.” I remind him.

He tilts his head as his green eyes bore into me. “Who is also wasted.”

“Well if it weren't for you I wouldn’t need to be here,” I shoot back.

“If it weren't for me you would have fallen over, the way you were stumbling out of
the bathroom, I’m surprised you didn’t wipe out,” he growls.

“What are you, a stalker Keegan? I don’t remember you being this creepy before,
must have picked it up from your blonde banshee.”

He looks at me confused, but then I see his eyes turn from anger to regret.

I reach up to touch his cheek. “Your eyes are so blue, like the ocean. Did you know
you have the most beautiful eyes on the planet?” Did I say that out loud? Oh shit!

He looks at me and then his lips curve up into that panty-dropping smile, and I know
if he decided to take me here I wouldn’t protest.  My head gets all foggy when he is
this close.

He must see my walls fall at that moment, because his warm lips descend on me, and
I can’t help but pull him close as our lips meet. It’s an explosion of everything I’ve
been feeling in the last few days - anger, passion, hurt, and wanting.  We devour each
other.   My head is telling me to stop, but I can’t.  His power over me is too strong.
Everything else around us falls away. His warm hand slides under my shirt shooting
a tingle down my spine that feels amazing.  I press into him trying to get closer.
When we come up for air, he places his forehead against mine.

“To the stars,” he whispers.

I pull away and I look up to him. “The stars are too far away Keegan, no on will ever
reach them. Even if you could touch one they'd burn you to ash.”

He releases his hold on me and I’m free, I’m almost sober now and flee to the front
of the bar and out the door. The farther away I get from Keegan, the better.  I’m this
close to forgiving him, but having been drinking, I don’t trust myself.  I can't be held
responsible for my actions right now. At least that’s what I tell myself once I step
outside and look up at the sky. Up to the twinkling stars, wishing just once I could
touch them.

EXCERPT

I smiled to myself. He was a handsome, adorable intellect with the body of Bruce
Lee. I could work with that. I spied a door off to the left of the living room and
walked over to it. I cracked it open and saw a prone figure lying on a large bed in the
middle of the room. Not for the first time, I hoped Watson wasn’t lying in wait for
someone to attack him. That would be very bad for my continued existence. I crept
over to him and put a hand on his bare shoulder. He lay on his stomach, one arm
over the side of the bed and his face buried in the pillow. His shoulders rose and fell
and I breathed a sigh of relief. He was alive.

That was good. I tried to shake him awake, but there was no movement or stirring. I
leaned over, and whispered, “Wake up.”

Nothing. I was apprehensive about using the syringe, especially since I had no idea
what was in it, but I figured Watson wouldn’t have given it to me if he didn’t trust
the contents. I pulled it out of my pocket, shuddered when I saw, again, how big it
was, and uncapped it. I turned on the lamp on his nightstand so I could see better
and hovered over Watson, my heart beating about a thousand miles per hour. I
really, really, really didn’t want to stick him with this. But I also really, really wanted
to live.

Remembering Watson’s instructions, I slid the blanket down to Watson’s ankles and
stared at his delicious rear end, covered only in a pair of green cotton pajama pants.

Maybe he did this to me on purpose and he was playing dead. I poked him again
with a finger.

“If you can’t figure it out on your own, I don’t need to give you a reason.”

Still in denial, I walk toward her until her back presses against the wall. My forearms rest on either side of her head. "I do, though You're my world, Meara. My reason. And without you nothing makes sense."

I’m fucking empty inside. I’m not even whole anymore. I’m a fragment of the man I used to be.” I rest

my forehead on hers and she closes her eyes. I lower my voice because I’m on the verge of breaking

down. “I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t function. My heart hurts, princess. It feels like it’s being torn in two

and I don’t know how much longer I can survive like this. I need to know what I did so I can fix this. Fix

us. I need to know you still love me as much as I love you. I need you, Meara. Christ, I can’t fucking

breathe without you.”

Her lids slowly open. Not all the way, only enough for her to glare at me. “Just because you’re a lyrical

genius doesn’t mean you can talk your way out of this.”

“I’m not writing a song. I’m telling you how I feel. How you know I feel about you. How I’ve always felt

about you. Please. What can I do? I’ll do anything, just talk to me. Please. Anything.” I don’t even know

what I’m begging for. Her forgiveness. Her trust. Her love. Any and all of it. I’ll take whatever she gives

me. I’m starved for her, and even if it’s only a crumb, if it’s from her, I’ll swallow it and ask for more.

EXCERPT

I took the envelope, and our fingertips brushed. My breath caught. It was unbelievable that such a small touch could affect me so much, but there I stood, my heart pounding in my chest and a heated flush working its way up my neck. He was standing way too close to me, and I swayed as lust hit me full force.

He caught my hand before I could jerk away and brushed his thumb across my knuckles in a soft gesture that left my skin tingling. Emotions flitted through me so fast I couldn’t make sense of them. An ache started in my chest, and I searched his tender expression, confused. How had we gone from jesting to
this?

I was in way over my head with this man.

I closed my eyes as the enormity of the situation hit me. I couldn’t pretend this was all about sex
anymore. Not with his affection shining through so clearly.

Just as I was about to tell him to let go, he sucked in a ragged breath and stepped away before clearing his throat.

I opened my eyes and stared at him, bewildered.

“Have a good night, Zoe,” he said and went back to sit at his desk.

I almost asked him what happened, but I decided against it. I’d asked for this, hadn’t I? He was
respecting a rule I had put in place.

As desire pulsed through me, I cursed my own stupid rule. I was officially an idiot. I sighed as I fled the office in sexual frustration, not even bothering with a goodbye.
