Blog Tour : Faking It

Fake it till you make it.

That’s Lexi Hall, the wild socialite’s motto for how to live life.

Single and allergic to commitment, Lexi is having the time of her life.  Or is she? With
a new promotion at the art gallery, and her colorful lifestyle as bright as ever, she
swears she has no interest in slowing down. When Lexi receives a phone call that
can change her career, she pounces on the opportunity. But what this outgoing diva
doesn’t plan for is her new client, the closed off, secluded artist, Hunter James.

Fighting to draw the line between work and pleasure, it’s up to Lexi to figure out
how to balance her fake life for something real.

Hunter James is an artist without a muse. Lacking the beauty in his life that he
craves, his art is beginning to suffer.  Unfortunately for the mysterious artist, a past
mistake also tarnishes his trust in women. Forced to take a meeting with an art
gallery dealer, he accepts knowing he’ll turn her down. He turns them all down.  But
what he doesn’t anticipate is for the seductive bombshell to turn his world upside
down.  As his body and mind come alive, he vows to stop at nothing to have her on
his canvas and in his bed.

As Lexi’s life begins to brighten with the promise of something beautiful, can she
stop faking it and find a reason to make it real? Or will Hunter’s past replace theirlight with darkness?

We haven’t been up in the friendly skies for more than a few minutes before Hunter begins to unclip his seat belt. “I need you to come to the bathroom with me?”

“Why? They don’t like too many people standing in the aisle, you know.”

“You won’t be standing in the aisle. Let’s go.” I’m looking at him strangely. Until it sinks in. “Why exactly do you want me to go with you?”

“Because I can’t stand it any longer,” he whisper-growls. “I need to take you into the bathroom and make them think I am fucking you senseless so these vultures know you’re with me. Get up, let’s go.” He snaps his belt off and attempts to stand.

I pull his shoulder down so he falls back into his seat. “Hunter, we can’t both go into the bathroom and do any of that. It’s illegal.” And I also refuse to admit why I know that.

“It’s not. I’m sure people still do it all the time. Up you go.” His pupils are beginning to dilate and I know he is serious.  The poor man has been festering about the non-competition on each side of us since we took off.

“Hunter.” Turning my body toward him, I take my hands and cup his face. I raise my voice so my words are dramatized and so that the two meat cakes on each side of us can hear. “I know you are aching to do so many dirty things to me, but my sores aren’t gone yet. The doctor said we should wait. We don’t want you to get them again, do we?” I tease. I watch the meat cake next to Hunter, scrunch his face and turn away from us. I turn to the aisle and flag down the flight attendant. “Yes, excuse me, do you think I can get some ice? I have some... ya know, blisters... down below, and the ice helps.” I smile while catching the cringing face of my other ex-fan.

Mission complete. I offer my attention back to the only person on this plane who I care about. Hunter is stock-still, except for his eyes, which are now as big as saucers. “You realize you just announced to most of the plane that you have genital herpes, right?”

“Yep. And now no one will give me the time of day. I’m all yours.” I wink. Hunter’s expression has dissolved into one of humor, although he is shaking his head at me.

“You amaze me more and more every single second, Lex. And I do believe that if you’re not careful, we will end up searching out those chapels.”

I try to hide the surge of emotions that shoot through my heart.

I bring his mouth to mine and with my lips and my tongue, I offer him the best French kiss ever, convincing him just how little anyone else on this plane matters. And just how much he does.

It takes the flight attendant telling us we’re about to land for us to break away. I don’t lose eye contact with Hunter and I can tell he is appreciative of what I did. He feels like the man in charge. Even if his prize was herpes.

Oops.

Cover Reveal : Elastic Heart

What do you do when the man who raped you has the entire police force in his pocket? When you’re
called a slut, a whore, and a liar? You get your own justice.

My name is Nami DeGrace, and six months ago I was a normal college student. I was volunteering on the campaign of a man I believed in, a man I thought to be good and noble. Then one night that man forced himself on me and everything changed.

The media reviled me. The police didn’t believe me. My friends abandoned me. I dropped out of college and only have one mission in life: make him pay. That is, until Nick Law came in to my life.

Indomitable, infuriating, and irresistible, Law is complicating things.

Amazing was an understatement. It was like pure animalism. For a moment I thought he reignited the fire in me. I thought he turned the ash to kindling, but then Law pulled back. Before he could reject me, I turned away.

“See?” I said, trying to pull out of his grasp. He didn’t want me. No one would ever want me again. I
snapped my arm free and ran past him toward the exit.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Law growled, pushing me against the door.

“What are you doing?” I gasped as Law spun me around.

“Kissing you back.” Before I could respond, Law’s mouth was on mine. He tasted even better than he smelled, if that was possible. I expected rough and harsh, but he was sweet. His tongue lightly grazed the seam of my lips, causing me to lean toward him. He nipped at my bottom lip, sucking it into his
mouth. I groaned.

It had been so long since someone had sucked my bottom lip…since someone cared about me. I threw my arms around his neck just as Law said, “I don’t think we should do this.”

It felt like ice had been dumped into my stomach. I tried to pull my arms back so I could wrap them
around myself, but Law held them to his neck. I averted my gaze.

Slut. Whore. Liar. The words popped into my head unbidden.

“Nami, look at me,” Law growled. “Nami this has nothing to do with you.” I refused to look at him,
keeping my eyes firmly on the floor, until he said, “I’m afraid.”

I scoffed. “What are you afraid of?”

“Hurting you.” My eyes darted to his briefly. Was he serious?

“I can handle it.” If this was how Law planned to hurt me, then it was much better than what I’d
imagined. I nipped at his lower lip, trying to show him that I really could take it. Law groaned into my mouth, his palm grasping the back of my skull. I pulled back, saying, “Plus, maybe I want to be hurt.

Maybe I don’t want a nice guy. Maybe I don’t want sweet.” Maybe I didn’t deserve any of that.

Law shook his head, eyes wary. “I’m a nice guy, Nami. Who said I couldn’t be sweet? I’m a perfectly sweet guy. I can worship you like you deserve. Still…” Law trailed off, burden heavy in his gaze.

“Just kiss me, Law, make me forget.” Law’s face changed at my request. It was subtle, but I caught it.

Like I said, I caught everything now. Placing both hands on either side of my face, Law pulled me to him.

His lips crushed against mine.

His tongue waged a war to conquer mine. His breath was hot against my lips and his stubble lightly
scratched against my chin. For that brief moment, everything was perfect.

Release Day : Rough & Tumble

#WhoIsBoBriggs

That’s all I saw all over social media a few years after he dumped me for a super model and was the first round draft pick for the North Carolina Hogs.

I thought I loved Bo, way back when, but it was all too cliché. He was the star quarterback and I was the head cheerleader. High school sweethearts turned college romance that crumbled when our careers twisted into different paths, or so we thought.

Oh and did I mention, I am about to start photographing his team?!

FML…This is going to be interesting to say the least.

EXCERPT & TEASER

I was startled awake. I had been falling fast in my dream and right before I hit the bottom, my eyes flew open. I quickly started to look around the foreign room. I couldn’t remember anything past seeing Brit and Roxy’s empty seats next to me at the club the night before.

I was in someone’s bed in a room I had never been in in my life. I was dressed in a large black shirt and my underwear and that was it.

How’d I get that fucked up last night?

I rolled out of bed. Hoping to figure out where the heck I was, I peered out the window. I knew that I
was downtown somewhere, but for the life of me I couldn’t place the streets and landmarks in my view.

I spun on my heels as I heard the door to the strange room open. My heart was pounding and I was
holding my breath as I waited to see who was coming in.

What the hell?

Of course, Bo Briggs slowly started to make his way over to me. I was paralyzed. He was engaged. What in god’s name was I doing in his room?

“How are you feeling?” He handed me a bottle of water and a couple Advil. His light blond hair was
shorter than it had been, and he looked downright military with his defined muscles, sleeves of tattoos, and crooked grin that always brought me to my knees.

“Fine.” I took the tiny pills and water from my hunky ex and chugged them down fast. In all reality, my head felt like it had been run over by a Mack truck. “What happened last night? Did we…?” I sunk onto the bed. Except for a few times in passing, it was the first time I had seen Bo in a few years. All the old buried feelings flooded me. I had known for a long time that I wasn’t over my ex, but I didn’t want him to ever know that.

“You were drugged last night at the club.”

My face felt hot, my palms turned clammy, and my head felt like it was about to explode. “What the fuck?” My voice crackled.

Blog Tour : Paradise Fought: Abel

I'm not a fighter.
I was born into a fighting family. As the middle child, I was overlooked in favor of my
older brother.
He took the negative attention, too. In comparison, there's nothing special about me.
I’m not as big as Cobra. I’m not as strong as Cobra. He's the alpha.
I'm a beta.
The second son.
The lesser one.
The one never encouraged to fight, never encouraged to do anything, but stay out of
my father’s way.

I'm not a lover either - but I wished to be – that’s why I needed her.
I met a girl in the pouring rain.
Sounds cliché, but it's true. It changed everything.
Because of love, I learned to fight.
Betas come second, but in this fight, my story is first.

EXCERPT & TEASER

If I thought I was going to make a speedy getaway, I was wrong. My savior caught up to me, half way down the walk, outside the finance building. He was quick and a large hand wrapped around my upper arm.

“Whoa, sister,” he said, slightly out of breath. “You almost got away from me again.”

“What?” I questioned. I had no idea what he meant: again.

“Never mind,” he muttered, his hand still on me. I looked down at it and he immediately released me. My eyes pinched as I realized I didn’t mind his hand on my skin. There was something nonthreatening about him. He seemed rather innocent, studious, actually. His shirt was buttoned almost to the top and tucked into his pants. The sleeves secure at the cuffs. His jeans were snug and hugged him well. He wore dark rimmed glasses that screamed smart. Brown boots looked too new on his large feet. It was like he had the right parts but the wrong combination.

His blue eyes were soft and easy to look into. They practically spoke to me, but I had no idea what he was saying. His dark hair was disheveled, a bit shaggy, but cool looking. He kind of looked like a pop star, which was a little too sugar sweet for me. His form was questionable. It was hard to tell what kind of body he had under those clothes. He looked rather preppy, like half the guys at this university. I didn’t want to think about it. I’d just sold my soul for another semester.

“So when do you want to do this?” I asked. His blank stare told me he had no idea what I meant.

“Us,” I said, pointing between him and me.

“I…” His voice trailed off as he gawked at me. His expression changed from confusion to shock.

“I didn’t buy you to sleep with you,” he said, a touch of disbelief in his voice. His face turned crimson, then fell. “Why, have you done that before?” It was my turn to be surprised and offended.

I turned on my heels and began stomping away from him. He was too quick and he caught me again. His hand on my arm halted me. This time he didn’t release me when I peered down at his fingers wrapped around my bicep.

“Look. I need help,” he blurted. His face pinked a little, and it was sweet. “I don’t need help with sex. I need help with before.” His tone dropped, and he looked side to side to see if anyone would hear him. I took his meaning.

“You don’t know how to do foreplay?” I questioned in a loud whisper, trying to hide my astonishment. How could anyone have sex and not know a touch of foreplay?

His face pinked again.

“Not that,” he said, sounding like a child. “The flirting. The dating. The…other stuff.”

I was stunned. I stared at him, taking in his features again. He was kind of cute, leaning toward the potential for good looking. He couldn’t possibly need help with this request. The confusion on my face made him speak.

“I don’t know how to flirt.” The words swirled between us.

“I don’t understand.” I didn’t. I didn’t know what he wanted from me.

“I need lessons how to be…cool: with girls. Call it a tutoring session. I need to learn how to be…seen.” His voice took on a touch of sadness. He couldn’t possibly be serious. I continued to stare at him. My mouth might have actually dropped open a bit, and I noticed he was watching my lips. It was a little exciting the way he stared at them. I licked them and his pupils dilated, filling in more black over the blue. His expression changed. Knowingly, he blinked when he realized I was teasing him. His lip quirked up and a dimple showed in his cheek.

“I need to date you,” he blurted. “To learn how to do, what you just did to me.”

Dexter pauses in the doorway of the closet, pupils dilating, the figurine all but forgotten as he watches me, eyes blazing. “Shit Daphne, you’re kind of turning me on right now with all this geek talk.”

“Is that so?” I lean back on his pillows, channeling my inner Tabitha, the Cylon still in my hand. “In that case… Did you know the starship that became the Blockade Runner in Star Wars: Episode four was the original design for the Millennium Falcon?”

His nostrils flare and he takes a step closer.

I press on, willing him towards me. “Did you know,” I start slowly. Very slowly, each word pronounced barely above a whisper. “That they still haven’t named Yoda’s species?”

Oh my god, where is all this random trivia coming from?

Dexter removes his glasses, setting them on a nearby dresser. Unwavering, the brown irises practically sizzle as he focuses every iota of his attention on me.

I stare holes into those glasses.

“Can you see without those?” I tease quietly as he stalks forward. He chuckles then, the sound low and deep against the silence of the bedroom. My teeth bite down on my lower lip to hide a shy smile. “Can you?”

His moves closer, closer still. “I see you, if that’s what you mean.”

Swallowing my nerves, I murmur, “Did you know…”

“Did I know what? Talk nerdy to me, Daphne.” He falls to the carpet, on his knees between my legs, running his hands up the length of my thighs. “Don’t stop.”

Blog Tour : Beautiful Rugged

Sometimes us silly girls fantasize about things that never come to be. I had
expectations after college—expectations to run off with Jake Larson and start our
life together in a little Pennsylvania farm town. I had my happiness mapped out
inside my head.

I didn’t expect to run into a strange, alluring man with a beard and dark hair stacked
up on top of his head. I didn’t expect to be attracted to someone so—different. He
was everything I didn’t know existed. He could make me feel things I’d never felt
before. It didn’t seem possible that we could be together. We both had obligations.

The world told us no, but we couldn’t stay away from one another, couldn’t deny
that we were drawn together. He was so beautiful—so beautiful rugged. I was going
to make him mine.

“Want something to drink? Some Mountain Dew maybe?” She held up her green can of soda and took a sip.

“Mountain Dew?”

“Yeah. You know, a little sugar, a little caffeine.” She eyed me closely for a moment.
“You’ve never had Mountain Dew before, have you, Gideon?”

I chuckled, the anger slowly seeping out of me. “No.”

“Want some?”

“No.”

“Come on, just try a sip. See what you think. This is so much fun. It’s like teaching a foreigner all kinds of new things and getting to experience it through their eyes.”

I arched a brow her way and shoved a bite of chocolate in my mouth. “Could you make me feel any more like a freak?”

Evanna burst out laughing. “Gideon Beckensheim, did you just say the word freak?”

I smirked but didn’t reply.

She shoved her can of soda under my nose. “Taste it.”

“No.”

“Please. I want to see what you think.”

I sighed. “You’re a little pest.”

“I won’t be if you just taste it.”

I looked at her smiling face and laughed, taking the can out of her hand and narrowing my eyes at her before placing the can up to my lips. I could taste something on the can where Evanna’s mouth had been. Was that watermelon maybe? She had something glossy all over her lips. I drank back the carbonated liquid and shook my head.

“Well?” she asked anxiously.

“It’s too sickening sweet,” I replied, feeling the tingle in the back of my throat from the carbonation. I took another bite of candy bar.

“It’s delicious, that’s what it is.” She ignored my remark and took another swig herself. “What about Pepsi? Have you had Pepsi?”

“You said you’d leave me alone if I tried your Mountain Dew,” I reminded her.

Evanna laughed. “I have another question.”

“Go figure.” I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. “Is it going to make me feel like a freak again?”

“Yes.”

At least she was honest. I pretended to be irritated, but really I was amused. “I may or may not answer it then.”

“Okay.” She leaned back in her chair and looked around the room. “Have you ever driven a car?”

“That’s easy. No.”

She leaned forward quickly and turned her head to look into my eyes. “Never?”

“That’s what I said, isn’t it?”

“But why? What’s the reasoning behind it? And don’t say it’s custom.”

“It’s custom.”

“Gideon!” She elbowed me in the arm. “Be serious.”

Release Day : Chasing Spring

I thought I’d left Blackwater, Texas behind for good. I didn’t belong in the small town, but
my dad wouldn’t listen. He dragged me back home in his beat-up truck and dropped a
bomb along the way: Chase Matthews was moving in with us. He was the golden boy of my
high school, my former best friend, and the last person I wanted sleeping across the hall.
His presence was too great a reminder of the ghosts I was trying to forget.

I didn’t ask for a hero. I don’t want to be saved.

To me, Lilah Calloway meant late nights sneakin’ out, moonlit hair, and sparklers in July.
She was my best friend until the day she left and I’d assumed Blackwater had seen the last
of her. Then, like a tempest, she rolled back into town for the final half of senior year. The
chopped hair and dark devil-may-care attitude warned most people away, but I knew if I
fought hard enough, I could find the lost girl.

I didn’t want to be her hero. Some girls don’t need to be saved.

About The Author

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had
it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny".
Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
